ARES System Manual: thermal Daemon

(input) @service thermal power: Reports the current power system thermal status.
(input) @service thermal update: Instructs the thermal daemon to reload settings.

thermal calculates the system's current temperature based on environmental factors and current power consumption, and sets a speed for the cooling system (fan, liquid cooling, etc.) that will restore homeostasis.

thermal covers a little under over half of the functionality of Companion's sentinel (ATOS/E) script, with the main damage features being present in the repair daemon.

For a list of settings used by the thermal daemon, see the help page for status.

Additionally, a number of internal constants used by thermal are listed in the API header file api/thermal.h.lsl located inside the ARES SDK.
